So this, the “About” page is where I am supposed present my public face. After opening the page you will know about me? The word “about” implies a concise summation in a brief narrative.

Let’s see, how about a resume. - I worked as a freelance illustrator in advertising in the  1980s and 90s. I taught Art History, Painting and Drawing at Nyack College. I sold large watercolor paintings through corporate dealers. Once I even had a set that I painted for a play appear in an Off Broadway theater. - How’s that?

Some personal facts - I was born in 1956. My father was an illustrator and member of the Society of Illustrators in New York City. My wife Nancy is an artist and educator. We raised four children.

In the fall of 2018 through the summer of 2019 Nancy and I lived in Lyon, France. I brought my  paints and brushes fully intending to play the role of an American artists living in France. Unexpectedly writing took on the role of my creative expression.

This website is my attempt at trying to learn about myself. It is not a catalog of accomplishments. The art and writings are explorations.
